ELM327-based_OBD-II_interface.zip

Design by: Spartelfant

Board designed for use with the ELM327 chip, including an interface for a Bluetooth module.

Specs:

  • Designed for ELM327 version 2.1 or higher.
  • All protocols supported by the ELM327 have been interfaced on the PCB.
  • Bluetooth interface provides 5V power, data lines are 3V3 (I know it sounds weird, but there are many cheap BT adapters to be found that conform to this spec).
  • Full-size footprint for J1962 (OBD-II) connector for maximum flexibility in connection options.
  • Unit draws fused power from OBD-II connection (12V vehicles only), no external supply needed. PCB is designed to be fully compatible with ELM327's power saving options so it won't drain the battery while the car is off.
  • All through-hole components.
  • Designed to fit into a cheap housing.
  • PCB design completely open source under a Creative Commons 4.0 license.
